Hello Fellow Seekers!
My name is Nora Booth, I’ve been divorced for many years now and my maiden name is Kaskoto: (pronounced: a, as in cause only spoken short. The s is the sh sound in English; the o is as the u in urban, the first o is short and the last one is drawn out.) So you can see that I opted to keep my married name as people over the phone pronounced my name wrong and some people even thought that I was Japanese.
I’m 52 years old and was born on April 18, 1955. in Budapest, Hungary. My father escaped with me after the 1956 revolution when I was just 1 ½ years old. The United Church of Canada helped us in many ways as refugees and I first lived in Montreal and I was raised in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I spent twenty years in British Columbia, Canada, mostly in Burnaby which is a suburb of Vancouver, where I attended Simon Fraser University for six years as an archaeology major. Those were the best six years of my life. I had to leave because I fell too far behind in order to keep my grades up. However, I can return to university and get my PHD as after I left I was diagnosed with ADD. When I was growing up there was no such thing as ADD never mind treatment for it. There is a new book called “The Brain That Changes Itself” by Norman Doidge, M.D. about neuroplasticity which promises rejuvenation for the brain even in old age and even helps autistic children have normal lives. I strongly believe that this book should be required reading during basic education. This new science promises me a bright future! Already I have learned much on the computer which I was afraid of up until now.
I currently live in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada and I’m quite isolated here from like minded people. I have always been a Wiccan ever since I can remember. When I was fifteen my father had and Astrological chart made for me by a professional and so far everything has come true. Over the years I have collected many books pertaining to both the Occult in general and Wicca in particular. So far I have only burned one book, it had to do with Satan worship which I wanted no part of it so I burned it in my fireplace. I am what you call an eclectic Wiccan so that I study all kinds of sources from around the world, shamanism, Buddhism, Judaism, American Indian wisdom, ancient Chinese wisdom and the list goes on and on. As an archaeological student at Simon Fraser I always tended to write my essays about the particular religions of the peoples in question. So feel free to address me whatever you beliefs are and I will welcome your input and/or advice.
